International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight champion Moruti ‘Babyface’ Mthalane has enjoyed training ahead of his fourth defence of the belt against Sunny Edwards from the United Kingdom (UK).
The fight between the two gladiators is going to be held at York Hall, Bethnal Green, in London on Friday.
Mthalane together with his trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan his stablemate Cayden Truter and second Hayden Jones have camped in Tunis, Tunisia, for more than a week. And they are going to fly out of Tunisia for London via Paris on Tuesday.
“The training has been going well, no complaints. I did everything in the gym. I’m looking forward to the fight on Friday,” Mthalane, who passed a COVID-19 test on Sunday, said.
Mthalane, who turns 39 in October, has not lost a fight in almost 13 years. His last loss was in an IBF and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) flyweight contest against Filipino boxer Nonito Donaire in November 2008.
“I did watch his videos. He is a good boxer, he moves around, but we worked so hard in the gym to defeat him,” Lindelani-born Mthalane said.
