AmaZulu moved to the top of the DStv Premiership standings following a 1-0 win over their neighbours Lamontville Golden Arrows in a Durban derby played at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont on Saturday afternoon.

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Luvuyo Memela netted his eighth goal of the season for AmaZulu when he scored for Usuthu on the stroke of half time.

This is a very crucial win for Usuthu as they have become the first team to reach 50 points this season overtaking Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 48.

Meanwhile, Chippa United continued with their recent fine form as they beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London. Veteran midfielder Kurt Lentjies netted for the Chilli Boys in the 10th minute.
