Chippa United technical adviser Vladislav Heric is satisfied with the manner in which the Chilli Boys bagged three points on Saturday even though he admits that they didn’t play well during their 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London.
Experienced midfielder Kurt Lentjies scored the all-important goal in the 10th minute. The win moved the Chilli Boys one place to 14th on the Premiership table with 24 points from 26 matches.

“All our games are like cup finals. You can see we are putting everything in this field to win this game, three points which is vital for us,” Heric said.
“We didn’t play an attractive game, as long as we win three points that is very crucial for us. Second half, we came to defending mode, we waited for counter. I’m very happy to see the commitment from the players. The fighting spirit is here. I do believe we are gonna have the same fighting spirit for our next game, which is the final.”
Meanwhile, Stellies coach Steve Barker lamented the number of chances they missed during the match.
“Tough one to take. You know we are dominating games, they had one shot on target, which is the goal. The effort from the players was there, the commitment was there. Unfortunately, we came away with nothing,” Barker said.
