Andile Jali says they know how to grind out results, especially towards the end of the season.
The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder won the man-of-the-match award when the log-leading Brazilians defeated TS Galaxy 1-0 through a Peter Shalulile goal in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday.
As a result of the win, Sundowns have 57 points after winning 16 times, drawing nine and losing once. AmaZulu, who are second on the log, have 50 points from 26 matches.
“We have been here before. We know how it’s like to win something. We know how to push in the last 10 games. We should now focus more than before,” Jali said.
The 31-year-old Jali thanked his coaches – Manqoba Mngqithi, Rulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela – and his teammates for making it possible for him to win the man-of-the-match award.
“I would like to thank my coaches and teammates. We worked very hard to be where we are. We now know that we are nearing the end and we have to focus,” Matatiele-born Jali said.
The Tshwane giants are left with four matches against SuperSport United, Swallows FC, Bloemfontein Celtic and Cape Town City before they wrap up the season.
