There’s more drama in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) as the promotion/relegation play-offs, which were going to start on Tuesday have been postponed.
This follows after GladAfrica Championship side Royal AM won a court reprieve on Monday evening thus preventing the start of the play-offs.
Royal AM, who were due to play against Richards Bay FC on Tuesday, successfully applied for the play-offs to be suspended until their case against Sekhukhune United’s automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership has been heard.
Initially, Judge Nyathi ruled that the GladAfrica Championship positions should be returned to how they were last Friday, but that changed that decision.
Sekhukhune United gained automatic promotion last Saturday after Judge Roland Sutherland upheld arbitrator Hilton Epstein’s awarding of three points to Babina Noko.
Epstein awarded Babina Noko three points after he found that Polokwane City had failed to field five Under-23 players in their fixture against Sekhukhune United earlier this year.
