Eastern Cape lass Sharadene ‘Shee Nzow’ Fortuin is set to shake off ring rust and challenge for a South African title.
Fortuin from Seymour in the Eastern Cape is billed to challenge Eldorado Park-based SA female bantamweight champion Melissa Miller at the Graceland Casino in Secunda on Friday, 30 July.
“I’m very happy that I will finally fight after a very long time. It has been tough. I’m grateful for this opportunity to fight against Melissa,” Fortuin said.
Fortuin returned to Gauteng a week after the Easter weekend and reunited with her former trainer Harry Ramogoadi-Manaka.
And this is going to be Fortuin’s first fight since her International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Intercontinental female bantamweight clash against Thema Zuma in December 2018.
On the other hand, Miller last fought when she lost to Simangele Hadebe in March at the same venue where she’s gonna meet Fortuin.
“I have regained my fitness and I’m not concerned about Melissa having fought earlier this year,” Fortuin, who is a former IBO bantamweight champion, said.
