Peter ‘Sniper’ Pambeni from Zimbabwe is aiming at bringing Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni down.
Pambeni and Ndongeni fight in a World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan-African junior-welterweight title contest at the DOCC in Orlando East, Soweto, on Saturday.
“For this fight I’m ready. I know that Ndongeni is a former champion. I know anything is possible, anything can happen. I’m here to take the belt home. Never mind the fact that I’m fighting away from home,” Pambeni remarked.
Pambeni last fought in South Africa when he lost to former SA junior-featherweight champion Bongani Mahlangu in February 2008. And he insists that he feels at home in South Africa.
“I once fought Bongani in Bloemfontein. I only come to South Africa to fight for titles. People back home are waiting for me to bring the belt home. I promised them that I’m going to do my best. I came here to box. I can even take Ndongeni down,” Pambeni said.
Pambeni once held the flyweight, bantamweight and lightweight titles in Zimbabwe.
