Northern Cape side Hungry Lions were crowned ABC Motsepe League national champions on Saturday.
This came after Postmasburg-based Lions defeated Platinum City Rovers from Rustenburg 5-4 on penalties at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. The match was decided on penalties after the two sides played to a goalless draw in 90 minutes.
Both Lions and Rovers are going to play in the GladAfrica Championship next season. Actually, the two teams had already been promoted to the GladAfrica Championship by the time they took the field to play the match.
