Senegal beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in a COSAFA Cup encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Tuesday afternoon.
Zimbabwe’s Warriors scored first when Qadr Amini converted a penalty in the third minute. The penalty came after Teranga Lions defender El Hadj Kane fouled Delic Murimba inside the box.
The Teranga Lions equalised through Abou Ndoye in the 44th minute. Ndoye pounced on a ball, which was spilled by Warriors goalkeeper Martin Mapisa from Dominique Mendy’s free kick.
The West Africans dominated in the second half and their efforts were rewarded with Mohammed Ba’s goal from an Albert Diene cross in the 88th minute.
Zimbabwe, who are six-time COSAFA Cup champions, are going to pack their bags and return home.
