There’s a couple of things that Asanda Gingqi wants to show Abdul-Aziz Kunert when they meet in Johannesburg next month.
The lad from Mdantsane wants to see whether Kunert can walk the talk and equally match him inside the ring.
“I’m glad that finally l’m going to fight against the guy. Kunert has been saying a lot of things. I want him to match his talk with action,” Gingqi said.
The unbeaten Gingqi added that he’s going to be crowned the new South African featherweight champion on 26 September.
“It’s clear that Kunert does not know me. I will let him know me in a big way and he will then regret saying all the things he said,” Gingqi remarked.
Gingqi has won all his six fights with five of his opponents failing to go the distance. On the other hand, Kunert is unbeaten in 10 fights.
“I’m sure he’s used to beating his friends. I’m not his friend and l’m also not like the boxers he beat,” concluded Gingqi.
The vacant South African featherweight title contest is part of the Gauteng Boxing Promoters Association (GBPA) bill set for the Booysens Boxing Gym.
