Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe is going to spend more time on the sidelines following a knee injury.
The Brazilians confirmed on Tuesday that Maboe will be out for between six and nine months.
“Lebo sustained quite a complex knee injury at the beginning of August. We are looking at a rehab process of about six to nine months, but it’s not the first time we are treating such an injury. With the medical team that we have, we are quite confident that we might shorten it and he might come back a little bit early,” Sundowns head of medical Doctor Carl Tabane said.
The 26-year-old Maboe has missed the start of the season because of the knee injury.
