Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is happy after the South African national team played to a goalless draw with Zimbabwe in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday.
This was Belgian-born Broos’ first match in charge of Bafana Bafana.
“First of all, l’m happy about the mentality. I think the players showed mentality,” Broos said.
“It was good for me. Defensively, it was alright for me. We didn’t give away chances to Zimbabwe.”
The former Indomitable Lions coach is, however, unhappy with his team’s offensive ability.
“It was not so good offensively. I think we have to work on that in the next months. We have to be more dangerous,” Broos said.
Bafana Bafana are going to return home on Saturday to prepare for Monday’s qualifier against Ghana at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
