The All Blacks trounced Argentina 36-13 in a Rugby Championship encounter at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.
The All Blacks made their intentions early on in the match. Patrick Toipoluto crossed the try line in the fifth minute and Jordie Barrett converted.
Two minutes later, Los Pumas winger Emiliano Boffelli converted a penalty to make it 7-3.
Soon after that, the All Blacks applied more pressure and were rewarded with a penalty, which was converted by Jordie Barrett in the 13th minute. The All Blacks continued with their dominant play and scrumhalf TJ Perenara scored their second try in the 27 minute. Once again, Jordie Barrett converted to make it 17-3.
The All Blacks didn’t stop with their forays into the Los Pumas’ half. It was then not surprising when Tupou Vaa’i scored their third try on the stroke of half time. Jordie Barrett duly converted to give the All Blacks a 24-3 lead at half time.
The Argentines were quick off the blocks at the beginning of the second half. They won a penalty, which was converted by Boffelli in the 43rd minute.
But that didn’t deter the All Blacks as they scored another try through Samisoni Taukei’aho in the 46th minute. Jordie Barrett missed the conversion.
Six minutes later, the Los Pumas scored their first try of the match through Boffelli, who also converted to make it 29-13.
The Los Pumas showed more hunger as they camped inside the All Blacks 22-metre line. However, they failed to come up with anything to write home about. It was the All Blacks, who added to their tally with Vaa’i’s second try in the 78th minute. Jordie Barrett converted yet again.
