Ellen Simwaka continues to train very hard even though she is yet to sign a contract for next month’s fight against Carly Skelly from the United Kingdom.

Simwaka and Skelly are scheduled to face each other in a Commonwealth female junior-featherweight title fight at the Grand Central Hall in Liverpool, United Kingdom, on Saturday, 23 October.

“We are working hard even though l’m yet to sign a contract. We have agreed on everything and l expect to get the contract any time,” Simwaka said.

Simwaka from Lilongwe in Malawi has revealed that her preparations started a long time ago.

“I have known since last year that l will fight against Carly. I watched her when she fought against Amy Timlin in October last year,” Simwaka said.

“She is a southpaw and from what l saw she is a dangerous opponent. But I’m not worried about that because l know l’m going to take her down.”

Simwaka has not been active since her stoppage win over former South African female bantamweight champion Melissa Miller.
