Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena was more concerned about how his team started during their match against Maritzburg United in Pretoria on Wednesday evening.

However, the Brazilians came right as they beat the Team of Choice 1-0 through Peter Shalulile’s goal, which stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches.

“Apart from having to arrive and have the right sort of mental focus, which we did have, the desire was there, the commitment was there,” Mokwena said.

“It was not intensive in the first half. But a little bit better in the second half. We won more of our duels, the line was a lot higher, our midfield came a little closer to the opposition.”

Meanwhile, the former Chippa United coach commended his players for holding on and making sure that their unbeaten run continued.

“Huge compliments to this group of players for what they have done. It’s a long, long season. We still have to keep our feet firmly on the ground and continue to improve,” Mokwena said.
