It’s a game that has the potential to put unnecessary pressure to coaches as Kaizer Chiefs clash with Orlando Pirates in a Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday afternoon (15h30).
Amakhosi have their backs against the wall after they lost 1-0 to Stellenbosch FC at home midweek while the Buccaneers registered a 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United.
However, current form sometimes counts for nothing and go out the window when these Soweto bitter rivals meet and Saturday might not be different.
“Very exciting feeling in the camp. Everybody is available, everybody is raring to go,” Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids said.
“The team is quietly confident, really excited for the big occassion and ready to perform. It’s about keeping your concentration levels really high, the right amount of tension, not too much tension to be able to perform.”
Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter, meanwhile, expects a good match against Bucs.
“I think this will be a very good game of football. We’ve done our homework on Pirates and even though they have had their injuries, they’ve still put together a balanced team,” Baxter said.
