The Teranga Lions of Senegal roared into the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon after they beat a nine-man Cape Verde 2-0 at the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam on Tuesday evening. 

Cape Verde suffered a blow when they were reduced to 10 men following Patrick Andrade’s red card in the 21st minute. Cape Verde’s bad luck continued in the 57th minute when their goalkeeper Jose Vozinha was red carded.

Six minutes later, Liverpool star Sadio Mane broke the deadlock giving the Teranga Lions the lead and Bamba Dieng scored Senegal’s second goal in added time.
