Steven Bagwasi from Botswana showed veteran Koos Sibiya no respect as he defeated him by a split decision in a 10-round bout at the UFC Centre in Paulshof, Johannesburg, on Thursday night.

The defeat means that 40-year-old Sibiya from Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga has lost six of his last seven fights with the other one having been a draw. On the other hand, the 27-year-old Malapyane-born Bagwasi, who is based in Gaborone, has now won seven times and lost once.

Meanwhile, Bagwasi’s compatriot Kutlwano Ogaketse, who is also based in Gaborone, outpointed Prince Ndlovu in an eight rounds fight.
