Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha has been putting a lot of hard work at the gym since he was informed that he was going to fight later this month.

Actually, Tyirha didn’t even know the identity of his next opponent when he began sweating it out at the gym under the watchful eye of his trainer Khangelani Jack.

Now Tyirha can’t wait to show boxing followers what he’s been up to preparing for his fight against Orlie Silvestre from the Philippines at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 30 October.

“We are serious about this fight. We have been working very hard at training and I’m very happy with what we have been doing. We are going to come up against a hard puncher thus thorough preparations are crucial,” Tyirha said.

Winning this fight will result in the vastly-talented Tyirha improving his position on the IBF ratings where he already occupies 15th spot.

The former South African junior-flyweight titlist is rated ninth by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and is fifth on the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) ratings.
