Siphesihle Sityo is going to come up against Luyolo Mbobo in his first defence of the Eastern Cape minimumweight title early next month.

Sityo, who dethroned Phumlani Maloni at East London’s Orient Theatre in December, meets Mbobo at the Ncumisa Kondlo Hall in Peddie on Saturday, 4 February. 

Sityo fought five times last year, winning four and losing once while Mbobo won two and lost one fight.  

Meanwhile, female boxers Thobela Nyanda and Yonelisa Poni are going to square up in a minimumweight bout in the main supporting bout.
