Reigning South African featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi is scheduled to fight against unbeaten Namibian boxer Mateus ‘The Beast’ Heita in a World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental featherweight title on Saturday, 18 March.

This is going to be Batyi’s first fight since he dethroned former national champion Jeff Magagane at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, early in December.

“We will be fighting for the WBA Intercontinental title against a guy from Namibia on the 18th of March,” Batyi’s trainer Khangelani Jack confirmed.

While Batyi has won seven times (five stoppages) and lost twice, Heita has registered eight wins with four of those victories being knockouts.

Heita defeated Zimbabwean Hassan Milanzi at the Ramatex Hall in Windhoek, Namibia, in October last year. The Namibian will be fighting outside his home country for the first time as he has only fought in Windhoek and Walvis Bay.
