Erstwhile South African and World Boxing Council (WBC) International junior-bantamweight champion Yanga ‘Showtime’ Sigqibo is patiently waiting for his first fight under new promotional company – TLB Boxing Promotions.

The Duncan Village-born Sigqibo joined Joyce Kungwane’s promotional outfit after he was released by Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP).

“I signed everything with TLB Boxing Promotions after we had asked Rumble Africa Promotions to release me. I’m just waiting for my first fight under TLB Boxing Promotions,” Sigqibo said.

Sigqibo decided to leave RAP and go further his boxing career elsewhere after he put up an impressive performance during a 10 rounds international bout against highly-rated three-weight division champion Kosei Tanaka in Nagoya, Japan, last December. The 27-year-old Tanaka is a former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) minimumweight, junior-flyweight and flyweight champion.

Trained by Thembani ‘Best’ Gopheni in East London, the former national junior-bantamweight titlist is rated 11th in the current WBC ratings.
