After spending the last few weeks waiting for his contract ahead of his fight against Mexican boxer Luis ‘Fletchita’ Castillo, Ayanda Ndulani finally signed and then left East London for Johannesburg where he will finalise his preparations for the bout.

Ndulani, who clashes with Castillo in a World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight elimination bout in Cancun, Mexico, on Friday, 19 May (20 May, South African time), left for Johannesburg on Wednesday evening to train at Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan’s Hot Box Gym.

“I have finally signed the fight contract and I’m very happy about that because I can now concentrate on my preparations,” Ndulani said on Wednesday evening.

The 31-year-old Ndulani from Scenery Park in East London is the current International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion and is rated number one by the WBC while Castillo is second.

Ndulani’s fight against the 25-year-old southpaw is going to be promoted by Mexican boxing promoter Alejandro Brito of BXSTRS Promotions.

“We are going to arrive in Mexico three days before the fight. It would be nice to arrive there a day before the weigh-in,” Ndulani remarked.
