Mdantsane-born fight referee and judge Pumeza Zinakile is the best ring official in South Africa.
This was confirmed when Zinakile walked away with the Ring Official of the Year award at the South African Boxing Awards function held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban on Friday evening.
The 41-year-old Zinakile beat stiff competition from Gqeberha’s Vuyokazi Ncata and Gauteng’s Riaan Janse van Rensburg.
Zinakile is the niece of former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) flyweight and junior-bantamweight champion Zolile ‘Bone Crusher’ Mbityi
