Better job prospects have forced World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental junior-featherweight champion Sanele Magwaza to turn his back on Gqeberha and relocate to Johannesburg.
And being someone who believes in letting his boxers go empower themselves, Magwaza’s trainer Caiphus Ntante gave the 31-year-old boxer his blessings before leaving for Johannesburg where he hopes to make a name for himself.
“Yes, it’s true that I have relocated to Johannesburg. I have a financial accounting qualification and I got a job this side. I started working here this week,” Magwaza revealed.
Having been in Johannesburg for a few days now, Magwaza has revealed that he’s going to resume with his boxing training at a new gym next week.
“I have been to a number of gyms around here. I have seen which one to choose that has the same culture as Caiph Camp. I will start on Monday as I have been busy at work this week,” he said.
Magwaza, who defeated Malawian boxer Grey Chimkwapulo during their WBF Intercontinental junior-featherweight title fight at the Wells Estate Multipurpose Centre in April, is grateful to Ntante for everything he did for him in the four years he spent in Gqeberha.
“He is the one that influenced us to go study, to do something because we have life after boxing. He pushed us to pursue our dreams. Without Caiphus, I wouldn’t be this kind of a guy that I am today. I really appreciate the love he showed me. I will never forget him,” Magwaza concluded.
I would like to say congratulations champ, Sanele “Real Deal” Magwaza even though I’m hurt because the improvement I was getting when I’m sparring with you it’s not going to be the same when you gone, but you know we’re Rain Nation, we strong. Go Well champ we’ll miss you and when you get there, we know you will show them where you come from. Go Well champ, be safe and do what you do the best.
