Spain have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup following a 2-1 win over Netherlands at the Wellington Regional Stadium in New Zealand on Friday. 

The match went to extra time after the two sides had played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time with goals from Mariona Caldentey for Spain and Stephanie van der Gragt scoring for the Dutch. 

Second half substitute Salma Paralluelo netted the Spaniards’ winning goal in the 111th minute. The 19-year-old Paralluelo had replaced Alba Redondo in the 71st minute.
