A ruthless Orlando Pirates destroyed Sekhukhune United 5-0 in an MTN8 quarter-final encounter at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday evening.

Zakhele Lepasa broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute after he received a cross from Patrick Maswanganyi. Lepasa, who was on loan at SuperSport United last season, completed his brace in the 57th minute.

Two minutes later, the Buccaneers stretched their lead when Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo netted their third goal.

Pirates’ confidence got lifted and they surged forward in search of another goal, which came when Monnapule Saleng scored in the 63rd minute.

Lepasa missed a golden opportunity to become the first player to score a hattrick this season when he shot wide from the penalty spot in the 79th minute.

Lepasa made amends for missing a penalty as he finally completed his hattrick beating Babina Noko goalkeeper Ali Badra Sangare for the third time in the 87th minute.
