The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has charged Mamelodi Sundowns and their captain Themba Zwane following a delay before their MTN8 quarter-final match against Moroka Swallows last Saturday.

Sundowns and Zwane are now scheduled to appear before a PSL disciplinary committee on Thursday next week.

“I can confirm, early this morning, I preferred charges against Mr (Themba) Zwane, the captain of Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as Mamelodi Sundowns arising from their encounter in the MTN8 kickoff match (vs Moroka Swallows). In the match, it was delayed by approximately three minutes and as a result of this misconduct which is legislated against in the rules of the League, they have been summoned to appear before the PSL DC on the 24th of August at 11:00,” PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu said in a statement on Thursday.
