Sweden settled for a bronze medal at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, which was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Swedes beat co-hosts Australia 2-0 in a third and fourth place play-off match at the Brisbane Stadium on Saturday.
A goal in each half helped the Swedes return home with the bronze medal. Fridolino Rolfo converted a penalty in the 30th minute and Kosovare Asllani’s 62nd minute goal ensured that the Swedes walked home with bronze.
