As Puerto Rican Jonathan ‘Bomba’ Gonzalez continues to dilly dally and not signing a contract to clash in a unification bout against Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga, it now looks like the Eastern Cape boxer will fight in Japan in four months’ time.

Ahikino Honda from Teiken Promotions in Japan is pushing for a unification bout between International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion Nontshinga and Kenshiro Teraji, who is the World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) titlist.

“On Sunday I received a call from Mr Honda. I want the fight and we are very close to coming to an agreement. When the Teraji fight was offered to us, I said “let’s go for it”. Sive has the style to beat Teraji,” Nathan said.

Nontshinga will go to the fight on the back of a 10th round stoppage win over Mexican Adrian Curiel Dominguez in Oaxaca, Mexico, two months ago.

On the other hand, Teraji from Kyoto, Japan, stopped now retired South African boxer Hekkie Budler in the ninth round in Japan in September last year. And Teraji outpointed Carlos Canizales at the Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan, in January this year.
