Vusumuzi Ngcamu is the new Gauteng junior-featherweight champion after he defeated Bheki Maitse at the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg on Sunday evening.
In a much-awaited clash, Ngcamu outpointed Maitse, the son of current South African junior-featherweight champion Bongani Mahlangu, whom many people thought was going to win the bout.
Meanwhile, former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni easily dispatched Malawian boxer Crispin Moliati in the first round.
