Mshu One Management boss Andile Mshumpela has reached out to Minister of Sport Gayton McKenzie to help get a motorised wheelchair for wheelchair-bound boxing trainer Luvuyo Tyamzashe.

Mshumpela spoke to McKenzie at the two-day boxing convention held at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) last week.

“Tyamzashe Boxing Club needs a punch box, HD PVC uppercut wall mounted box, punching bag and a maize bag. However, I thought I should prioritise the request of a  motorised wheelchair so that bhuti Luvuyo can be able to wheel himself from home to the gym and back without asking for assistance from other people. Once the minister manages to secure this motorised wheelchair, it will obviously make social life very easy for bhuti Luvuyo,” Mshumpela said.

Tyamzashe, who turns 62 on Monday next week, was confined to a wheelchair following a permanent injury he suffered after his fight against Clay Gubevu in Mdantsane in June 1985.
