Kay B Promotions boss Mzi Booi has announced that the South African featherweight title contest between reigning champion Zolisa Batyi and Lindelani Sibisi has a new date.
The fight has been moved by two days from Friday, 23 May, to Sunday, 25 May, at the Orient Theatre in East London. Initially, this clash was scheduled for Sunday, 27 April, at the Orient Theatre, but had to be postponed because of the refurbishment of the venue.
Batyi from Eluxolweni in Nxarhuni will be making the fifth defence of the title he won after he stopped Jeff Magagane in the second round at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, in December 2022.
Meanwhile, Sipho Mahlangu will test his fistic skills against Aphiwe Boyiya in a vacant SA junior-welterweight title fight in the main supporting bout.
Amalinda-based Boyiya, a former national featherweight and junior-lightweight titlist, will be out to become a three-time SA champion.
