After struggling to make the junior-welterweight limit before drawing against Sibusiso Zingange in a catchweight bout in his last fight three months ago, Ntethelelo Nkosi has finally realised that the time has come for him to think about which division to campaign in.

And the Mtubatuba-born former South African junior-welterweight champion is now considering moving up to the welterweight division.

“I left the SA junior-welterweight title to give others a chance to contest it. I am thinking of moving up, but I haven’t decided yet. I still have to speak to my manager,” Nkosi said.

Nkosi, the 2025 WBC Grand Prix semi-finalist, is managed and trained by Damien Durandt. Nkosi vacated the SA junior-welterweight title to pursue glory in the WBC Grand Prix where he lost to Colombian Carlos Alfonso Utria Lopez in the semi-finals last year. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
