Bernice Ferreira, who made history by becoming the first female boxer in Africa to become a unified boxing champion, might get into the ring against the same fighter she defeated last month.

Salita Promotions and NO DOUBT Management are working together yet again to ensure a rematch between the current World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female junior-lightweight champion and French-born Canadian, Caroline Veyre.

“We are now working on a rematch between Ferreira and Veyre. I feel there is great energy and potential for Colin and I to work together long term and I think last month was a very good start,” Salita Promotions chief executive officer, Dmitriy Salita, said.

Salita Promotions promotes one of female boxing’s biggest stars, Claressa Shields, who recently stopped Kaye Scott. This was in the same tournament where Ferreira stopped Veyre at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America (USA).

“I like Dmitriy and we hit it off the second we met. I think we can do some great things and give South African fighters great exposure in the US market as well,” Nathan said.
