Bafana Bafana started the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Guinea at the Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto on Saturday afternoon.
After missing a number of goal scoring opportunities, Bafana finally scored through Hannover 96 defender Ime Okon following a Sphephelo Sithole assist in the 30th minute.
Guinea levelled matters when Seydouba Cissé beat Bafana goalkeeper and captain, Ronwen Williams, in the 69th minute for his third international goal.
And Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane’s boys restored their lead through Samukele Kabini in the 77th minute after a pass from Yanela Mbuthuma.
