Talented East London boxer Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile is back in the top five ratings of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight division.
It’s all thanks to the intervention of his trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan, who didn’t waste time after seeing that Fuzile had been removed from the IBF ratings.
Fuzile is rated fifth by the IBF and an elimination bout is a reality now.
“Ideally, right now we are still waiting for the Rakhimov-Diaz fight,” Nathan said referring to Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov’s fight against Joseph Diaz on 13 February.
“Basically, how it works is that we will get a letter from the IBF after that fight. At the moment, I don’t know who the IBF will order to fight Azinga in an elimination bout. Remember that he was removed from the ratings and is back at number five now. I have spoken to the IBF about Azinga being moved to number four.”
Fuzile was rated number four throughout 2020 only to be removed from the ratings as it was evident on the ratings released on 10 January.
Meanwhile, Nathan has revealed that former world champion Hekkie Budler will return to action in March.
Budler, a former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA) junior-flyweight champion, has not fought in more than a year.
