Missed opportunities have become a source of AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy’s worries in his bid to make sure that Usuthu climb the DStv Premiership standings.
Usuthu, who are ninth on the Premiership table with 15 points after winning three games, drawing six and losing four, have scored 15 goals and conceded 14 in 13 matches since the beginning of the season in October.
And McCarthy goes to Friday’s match against Stellenbosch FC at King’s Park in Durban hoping that his strikers will wear their scoring boots.
The match is going to start at 17h00.
“I think we have established ourselves in games in such a short space of time. We play good football and we don’t seem to struggle against most teams in the way we play. But scoring goals has become a little bit of an issue. We need to be clinical in front of goals,” the former Bafana Bafana striker said.
“Hopefully, the Baroka win will just give us a little bit of motivation and extra dimension that we were looking for.”
McCarthy’s boys beat Baroka FC 2-0 away at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane last weekend.
