The bell has rung for the last time for Nangoku Tetani, who was one of the most recognisable figures in boxing tournaments held in the Eastern Cape.
The vastly-experienced time keeper passed away aged 68. Tetani, who went the way of all flesh on Sunday morning, had been a time keeper since 1975.
Tetani was an important figure in tournaments held in and around East London as his duty as a time keeper meant that the beginning and ending of all rounds depended on him.
He is going to be buried in Khulile village, Debe Nek, in the Eastern Cape’s Raymond Mhlaba Municipality.
