After stopping his last four opponents, former world champion Lusanda ‘Mexican’ Komanisi will now face Cosmas Cheka from Tanzania on Sunday, 26 June.
Komanisi will be defending his World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan-African lightweight title when he clashes with Cheka at the Meropa Sun Casino in Polokwane.
It’s going to be Mdantsane-born Komanisi’s first fight since he stopped Kabelo Bikitsha in the seventh round during their fight at the Orient Theatre in East London in December last year.
Komanisi, a former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) and South African featherweight champion, is trained by Vusi Mtolo.
Meanwhile, Cheka from Dar-Es-Salaam in Tanzania will go to the Komanisi duel following a third round win over his compatriot Khatibu Semhando last month.
