Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis survived a Rolando Romero onslaught and stopped the challenger in the sixth round at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, United States, on Sunday morning (South African time).

The 27-year-old Davis handed Romero his first career loss after referee David Fields stopped the fight in the sixth round.

This was after Davis had sent Romero to the ropes and down with a left shot. Romero beat the count, but Fields waved the fight off.

The 26-year-old Romero was in it, especially in the first three rounds as he showed why he went to the fight still unbeaten.

Davis has improved his record to 27 wins with 25 knockouts while Romero dropped to 14 victories (12 stoppages) and a loss.
