The spirit prevailing among players as well as the understanding between the playing personnel and the technical team excites Swallows FC coach Brandon Truter.
The Dube Birds have done well so far and are placed third on the DStv Premiership table. Truter has led the unbeaten Swallows to seven wins and eight draws.
And Swallows striker Ruzaigh Gamildien is second on the top goal scorers’ chart with nine goals while SuperSport United forward Bradley Grobler tops with 12 strikes.
“The togetherness, the atmosphere at this club is immense. We have a bunch of hard workers here. The players and the technical team understand each other. We have so many talented players, who are not making it to the starting 11. The competition is very high,” Truter said.
The Birds played to a goalless draw with AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership fixture in Dobsonville on Sunday.
“At home we are expected to win. At home it’s two points dropped. The other draws were away from home barring the Chippa (United) draw. I’m not happy with the result,” Truter said.
Meanwhile, Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy admitted that his team failed to live up to his expectations.
“It’s a very, very weird game for us. We were just flat. You have to give credit to the opponents, they really took us out of our comfort zone. I think we can admit that it was not our best performance,” McCarthy said.
