Gavin Hunt believes that his team Kaizer Chiefs played well during their 1-1 draw with SuperSport United at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Saturday afternoon even though he’s disappointed with the penalty they gave away. Reeve Frosler scored for Amakhosi while Bradley Grobler netted for the Tshwane side.
The Chiefs coach also reckons that Amakhosi should have registered a comfortable win. Chiefs are struggling to shake off poor form, which saw them losing three back-to-back matches.
“I thought we were good. We should have won the match, but again we made an unbelievable stupid error pulling the guy in the box giving a penalty away. We should have won the game by a comfortable score,” Hunt said.
“Every week we have chances, we don’t score. It was a difficult game, we played well. The first half was very good.”.
Hunt lamented injuries, which continue to hit his team following Willard Katsande’s injury against Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
“Every game we take off players because of various reasons. Most of the season I can’t make a tactical change,” the former Bidvest Wits mentor said.
Amakhosi went to the Matsatsantsa match on the back of losses to Orlando  Pirates, GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC and AmaZulu.
Matsatsantsa coach Kaitano Tembo, meanwhile, admitted that they were poor, especially in the first half.
“First half was very poor. We didn’t really come to play. They won all the second balls. They kept the ball a little bit longer. In the second half I think we were better when we brought in (Thamsanqa) Gabuza. He gave us options when he got their defence under pressure. Overall, it was not a good game,” Tembo said.
