The fact that Kaizer Chiefs have not done well so far this season does not sit well with Njabulo Blom and Daniel Cardoso, who believe that it’s about time Amakhosi win again.
Blom and Cardoso are keen to help Amakhosi record their second win of the season when they face Black Leopards in a DStv Premiership match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Wednesday (19h30).
”Going to the game on Wednesday we are confident, not highly confident because we had a very good performance against the team from Cameroon although the results didn’t come the way we wanted them to come,” Blom said referring to Chiefs’ goalless draw with PWD Bamenda in the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round fixture last Saturday.
”We are going to give our best on Wednesday. The coach has spoken to us about how we should handle ourselves outside the field. We will try to display a very good performance.”
Meanwhile, Cardoso has admitted that Wednesday’s encounter against Lidoda Duvha is not going to be easy.
”On Wednesday we have a very tough game against Black Leopards. It’s never an easy game against them. Obviously, they had a rest over the weekend,” said Cardoso.
”We need the three points. We have fallen behind on the log. We have not had the best of starts. It’s not gonna be an easy task, but I think we are up to it. The boys know what is at stake. So it’s gonna be very vital for us to keep a clean sheet.”
Chiefs occupy an unfamiliar 13th position on the DStv Premiership standings after collecting five points from five matches having won only once, drawn twice and lost two matches.
On the other hand, Leopards are 15th on the table with three points from five matches after winning once and losing four times.
