Maritzburg United made life difficult for Chippa United whipping them 5-1 in a DStv Premiership match at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday evening.
Thabiso Kutumela scored a brace with the other goals coming from Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Tebogo Tlolane and Ali Meza while Maloisane Mokhele netted for the Chilli Boys.
Gqeberha-based Chilli Boys scored first through Mokhele in the 28th minute. Kutumela equalised for the Team of Choice seven minutes later and then completed his brace in the 39th minute. Hlongwane made it 3-1 in the 50th minute.
Tlolane scored in the 81st minute to make it 4-1 and Meza put the final nail into the Chilli Boys’ coffin in the 87th minute.
The Chilli Boys beat the Team of Choice 3-1 in Gqeberha in the first round. This was after the Team of Choice had taken the lead only for the Chilli Boys to come back stronger.
Meanwhile, Baroka FC held Cape Town City to a goalless draw at the Cape Town Stadium.
