A nine-man Kaizer Chiefs beat Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club 1-0 in a CAF Champions League Group C fixture at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Saturday evening. 
Bernard Parker surprised himself and many football followers when he scored for Amakhosi in the 48th minute. This was Parker’s first goal in almost two years. 
Before the Wydad match, Reiger Park-born Parker last scored when Chiefs beat Chippa United in a Nedbank cup semi-final clash on 20 April 2019. 
Amakhosi, who are third with eight points from two wins, two draws and a loss, finished the match with nine men after goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi and striker Samir Nurkovic were red carded. Akpeyi was sent off in the 41st minute while Nurkvic got his marching orders in the 89th minute.
