Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has described their CAF Champions League Group C match against Moroccan club Wydad Athletic Club as a tough game.
Amakhosi stunned Wydad with a 1-0 win through Bernard Parker’s goal at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Saturday evening.
“The game was tough because we were a man down, which changed our system. The most important thing is that we have won. Just a great effort from the team,” the Zambian said.
This was Chiefs’ second successive as they defeated their bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in a recent DStv Premiership fixture.
“In terms of the motivation, we played two difficult games and won them. It’s a morale booster for us a players,” Kambole sai.
Amakhosi have collected eight points in five matches and are third on the Group C standings with one match to go.
Next up for Chiefs is a DStv Premiership home encounter against Stellenbosch FC at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday (17h00).
