Baba ‘Babes’ Makala has predicted that his charge Luvuyo Sizani is going to become the first boxer to defeat New Zealander Jerome Pampellone and will be crowned the new International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental light-heavyweight champion on Saturday.

Sizani from Ilinge in Komani is scheduled to collide with Pampellone in a fight, which will pit two unbeaten boxers against each other at the Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

“We have made the weight and we are looking forward to tomorrow where Luvuyo is going to be crowned the new IBF Intercontinental champion,” Makala remarked.

Sizani is the current African Boxing Union (ABU) SADC light-heavyweight champion while Pampellone holds the IBF Australasian and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Asia-Pacific light-heavyweight titles.

Makala-trained Sizani has won all his seven fights with three of those victories being stoppages. On the other hand, Pampellone, a former IBF Australasian and New Zealand cruiserweight champion, has nine stoppages in his 16 wins.

The 27-year-old Pampellone, who was born in London in the United Kingdom, is rated seventh by the IBF and the WBO rates him in 13th spot.
