Hekkie ‘Hexecutioner’ Budler will have a public and media workout at the Hot Box Gym at 10am on Wednesday, three days before he flies out of South Africa for Japan.

Budler is scheduled to leave for Japan together with his trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan, assistant trainer Shannon Strydom and cutman Bernie Pailman on Saturday.

The 35-year-old Budler travels to Japan to challenge reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) ‘Super’ junior-flyweight champion Kenshiro ‘The Amazing Boy’ Teraji at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo on Monday, 18 September.

Budler will go to battle against his Japanese opponent following a first round win over Thai boxer Wichet Sengprakhon in Johannesburg in May. On the other hand, Teraji stopped American boxer Anthony Olascuaga in the ninth round in Tokyo in April.

Budler has a professional record of 35 victories (11 knockouts) and four losses while Teraji has won 21 times (13 stoppages) and lost once.

Teraji’s only blemish came when his compatriot Masamichi Yabuki stopped him in the 10th round in September 2022. Teraji avenged that defeat with a third round win during a rematch in March last year.
