It was a merciless display as France ran in eight tries in the first half to set the tone for their demolition of Namibia as they whipped the Southern African team 96-0 in a 2023 Rugby World Cup Pool A match at Stade de Marseille on Thursday evening.
Damian Penaud and Jonathan Danty scored two tries each with Charles Ollivon, Thibaud Flament, Antoine du Pont and Louis Bielle-Biarrey also crossing the try line to race to a 54-0 first half lead.
Baptiste Couilloud, Penaud, Bielle-Biarrey, Ollivon and Melvyn Jaminet added more tries in the second half with Thomas Ramos missing only one conversion.
Namibia have proved to be Pool A’s whipping boys as they lost by big margins to France, New Zealand and Italy.
